Judge Amy Tarno has taken an active role in improving the administration of justice beyond her own courtroom. Her experience has led to opportunities to serve on statewide committees, contribute to court improvement initiatives, and teach judges and court personnel across Texas.

Teaching the Next Generation of Texas Judges
Judge Amy Tarno has shared her experience with judges and court personnel from across Texas through the Texas Justice Court Training Center. Her teaching has included topics such as court management and technology, helping other courts strengthen their operations and better serve their communities.
STATEWIDE LEADERSHIP
Trusted to Serve at the State Level
Judge Amy Tarno’s experience has earned her opportunities to help shape justice court practices across Texas. In 2020, she served on the Texas Supreme Court Eviction Task Force, helping justice courts navigate the complex issues created by the pandemic while preserving order and public confidence in the court system. In 2025, she was again appointed by the Texas Supreme Court to serve on the Eviction Rules Task Force.

Bringing E-Filing to Kaufman County
After taking office in 2019, Judge Amy Tarno worked with her colleagues to bring e-filing to the justice courts of Kaufman County, creating a more efficient way to file cases throughout the county.
INVESTING IN YOUTH
Mentorship for Kaufman County Youth
In 2025, Judge Amy Tarno’s court received a grant from the Governor’s Office to establish a mentorship program for youth in Kaufman County.
